Oh well that would fit just fine Mae.
ic;; Owl let out a silent breath when his idea was met with little resistance. He would have to keep the orders down. He gave a small nod to Krezirk and Bandit as his green eyes searched the surrounding forest for any type of shelter. The tangle woods were close together, interlacing branches blocking out most light so the rest fell in shafts against the cold ground. The New-leaf grass was sparse and a dingy color, though generations of leaf litter covered the ground and provided shelter for small animals. There! Not too far ahead he could see what seemed like a half burrowed badger set between the above ground roots of a tree that seemed older than the oldest cat he had ever met. Its branches reached high up, seeming to touch the sky. It would serve as a perfect hiding nook.
He padded over, a tad wary as he had encountered badgers before. But he couldn't smell the overwhelming stench of badger so it must have left moons ago. He placed a paw at the entrance and pushed down, testing it to see if it would collapse. Nothing happened, the hard packed dirt was held up by the sturdy roots of the tree. Some arched over the entrance hole, years of weathering creating what he saw. "This should serve the purpose. We can wait between the roots, but I'm not venturing into the set, badger or no badger I still like to stay above ground" he mewed and a shiver ran up his spine, his paws tingling at the thought of getting trapped underneath. He did not wait for the others to approve or protest, a patrol could walk by any moment. Owl crawled between the roots and undergrowth, feeling the cool dirt underneath. He was completely hidden, his white and ginger fur not visible.

Without pausing to see where Owl and Krezirk choose to hide, Bandit took several steps forward. All the while she was scanning about for a hiding place. Some muddy ferns? No, it was hard enough grooming without trying to get dirty. What about that high grass? No, black fur would be too easy to see in the dry dead grass. Wait… there; a low bush near the base of a tall sapling. Bandit bounded quietly towards it, ducking under it without a second thought. She settled in a low crotch wrapping her tail carefully around her paws so the white fur was covered. She lowered her head to peer out from the bottom of the bush, effectively hiding her white chest fur in the process. She opened her mouth, scenting the air. Excitement coursed through her as she picked up a cat’s scent. The excitement vanished as she realized that cat was Kerzirk.
((I don't know if anyone has considered this, but Moondance is a Snowclan cat. We're waiting in Tangleclan and Moondance has already gotten into trouble by crossing the boundries. How are we going to catch her?)

ooc// Yes, I was wondering about that too, Blue. Moondance would be the ideal cat, except for her being in SnowClan. If you could figure out some somewhat realistic way of getting her over here, then we could catch her. Or maybe we could wait a while, give up and go somewhere else? That doesn't sound too appealing either.
bic// Krezirk watched as both Owl and Bandit camouflaged into the scenery. He himself had no problem with going under the ground, as long as the outside world was somewhat visible. Krezirk did not, however, have any desire to meet with the former owner of the set. Cautiously he padded over to the den, thoroughly examining it, making sure it had been long abandoned. All seemed safe, so he slowly went in, head first, into the blackness. If Krezirk had had a mentor, she's have called him a mouse-brained fool, but Krezirk could usually get away with being somewhat reckless, it wasn't as if he valued his life anyways. Luck was with him and the den was, indeed, safe. Krezirk settled down on the dry sand floor, and waited.

ooc;;
Eh, I forgot about that little fact. -headdesk- Look I will get us over to SnowClan territory quick. I hope you don't mind a bit of changing things quick.
ic;;
Owl shifted in his position, his legs quickly going numb in their current idle state. He let out a small breath and let himself rest on the ground, head against one of the roots so that he could keep watch while staying comfortable. A loud snap woke him from his thoughts and an overwhelming smell flooded his nose. Badger! He hadn't smelled its scent on the den, perhaps it was coming back to forage. What ever it was doing they were in danger. Even if they were three full grown cats a badger was bad news any day.
Owl jumped quickly to his paws and looked pointedly at the others. Just then the animal lumbered into view, its snout panning back and forth as its bad eyes squinted in the dim light. It was a mostly nocturnal animal and its sense smell was acute. In a matte of moments it would pick up their scent, they needed to move! "Move it" he hissed to the other two and making sure they were following, bolted through the tangle woods, using all his skill to make sure he didn't trip and fall on the crowded forest floor. He waded quickly through the river and stopped once he reached the other side, knowing the badger couldn't follow. "I suggest we move to SnowClan, and make it quick. At this rate it will take all New-leaf" he mewed dryly.

Badgers, the biggest and meanest creatures ever to be encountered. Hissing, the black and white she-cat wiggled out from under the bush as quickly as she could, hoping beyond hope that the badger wasn't on top of her already. As soon as she was free she turned to run, and found herself almost face to face with the striped beast. "Move it!" Owl had yowled. Was ever a command needed less? 'No," she thought sarcastically 'I'm just going to sit here and let it eat me!' Apparently stressful situations brought out her cynical side. Bandit didn't bother to show any sign of hearing Owl, she just bolted. Her fur stood on end as she dashed towards the place from which they had just come. Finally she felt her paws sink into the dirt, ever so slightly. As she moved closer to the river her paws sunk deeper and deeper into the muck. It sent relief flooding through her to see the river, feel the icy water under her paw pads. “Let’s just get going.” She replied as she reached the other bank and pulled herself from the water.

ooc// Good thinking.
Bic// Krezirk was getting a little too comfortable in the old set, really, it was quite nice with the sandy floor covering, and the snug atmosphere. He attempted to turn around, wondering how far the hole went. "Move it!" What was that cat complaining about now? Could they really have found a Clan cat so soon? Krezirk peeked his head out of the opening, looking around to see what was causing the commotion. He didn't notice anything at first, then a stench that would wake the dead hit his nostrils. "Ugh," He grumbled, "What in the..." Then he saw it. The great lumbering creature was getting much to close for comfort. Krezirk bolted, thankful he had noticed it when he did, and had not gotten trapped in the set. What was he thinking? He had about as much common sense as a newborn kit! Looking back, Krezirk watched as the animal sniffed at the den he had been in moments before. He had never seen a badger so close before, only at a distance. They truely were the mosters others had described. The others were already on the other side of the river. Once again, Krezirk braved the icy current and made his way back to their own territory. "Lets get going." Krezirk arived just in time to hear Bandit say. Now wanting to admit the Badger had nearly trapped him, thus delaying his arival and causing him to miss their destination, Krezirk nodded and waited to see which way they were heading.

Owl looked the others over quickly, they seemed to be all in one piece and not badger food, good. He started again, his pace quick as they would need to get to SnowClan territory quick if they wanted to capture a cat before night fall. A glance at the sky told him it wasn't too late. From the position of the sun against the horizon, that he could see since the left the trees, they had time to catch a clan cat and get back before the first star shone. He relished the feel of the still cool wind through his white and ginger fur. It rippled over his ears to skim down his back and fan out his tail into a streaming banner. The always current limp was present, his crippled paw hindering him slightly so that his gait was uneven. It was a constant reminder of his earlier moons when he couldn't even hold his own against a fox. These thoughts elicited a small hiss of resentment and pain. His chest tighten at the memories, causing a slight stumble and a quick gasp. Owl shook it off, continuing until he could scent the open SnowClan territory. The smell of rabbits and clear, open moorland reached him, much different from the thick and complicated smells of TangleClan. Frankly, he was happy to leave it behind, the wide open spaces were much more to his liking. The feeling of solitude was reassuring and familiar to him. "Lets have a short search, see if we catch one right off" he finally said after stopping at the border. The smells were much stronger now but once again he had no qualms about crossing it.

Without much thought, Bandit fell into step behind Owl as they headed off towards Snowclan's vast territory. Scenting the air instinctively as they drew closer to the dividing line, she thought she smelled Aspen's scent as though she had been near the border recently. With a sigh, the she-cat decided she would have to talk to the young orange she-cat about boundaries. Until she realized she herself had crossed two in one day. If Rowan hadn't wanted a clan cat, she never would have bounded so rashly into clan land. Going where you weren't wanted generally got you killed and Bandit had had enough of that in the alleys. Which, in fact, was why she had joined up with him. His plan would provide security. It wasn't that she was so dependent on security; she wouldn't have become a kitty pet in order to gain it. It was just nice to have something, some structure to depend on. After what she had gone through on the streets, well it didn't seem like too much to ask for. Her assent to Owl's plan should have been instinctive; it was quick and effective. Effective, unless they came across a group of clan cats. She, of course, voiced her concern. "And what happens if we come across a group of them while we're on their land? At least in Tangleclan there was some cover. If they find us on their land, we fight them off and capture one, then they KNOW Rockclan was responsible. If we don't take one after the fight and wait until later then they still have a reason to suspect us."

Owl turned and watched Bandit as she spoke of her worries. He thought for a few moments, a group of SnowClan cats would be a problem. "Well, if we do come across some clan cats" he started tentatively, making his words seem more of a suggestion. "We would simply try and talk our way out and return to camp, I'm sure our own safety should come before a cat napping. If we can't talk our way out we can always fight. We know for a fact SnowClan cats are smaller and not as strong" he reasoned smoothly.
Owl couldn't come up with any miraculous to her concerns, what did he look like, Rowan? He wasn't leader and he wasn't trying to act like it, if she had a problem with his ideas couldn't she just come up with her own. An exasperated sigh escaped him and he looked at Krezirk briefly. "Have any ideas?" he asked, his everlasting patience showing through. Though it was quickly wearing thin, first they were chased out of TangleClan territory by a badger and now they can't enter SnowClan territory without worrying.
He shifted on his paws, green eyes gazing out across the moor. He couldn't see any cats coming over the next crest, they were safe for a few more minuets.

When Owl mentioned 'our own safety' Bandit's tail twitched impatiently. He completely misunderstood the reason behind her words. She wasn't worried about her safety, only stopping a huge war. One of which there would probably be if they were caught cat-napping a clan cat. The whole purpose was to get him to stop and think before he just plunged into Snowclan's territory. Well, it had worked. Here they stood, only a few paw steps between them and the dividing boundary. "Great plan. Really." The sarcasm ruined the point of her clam tone. "Why don't we just attack the camp then? Since they are so much smaller and weaker?" She rolled her eyes; why not? Her calm complacency had shattered quick as that. "Why don't we just sit here? If a cat comes wandering around alone it would be easy enough to catch it. Meanwhile, a patrol comes wandering along and they can't do anything because we are on our own territory." Now she spoke quietly, her calm had returned like the waters after a storm. 'I'm sure our own safety should come before a cat napping.' Why did toms always think she-cats were so self-oriented rather than just sensible? Which is exactly what the suggestion was; sense. Or at least, it was more practical than Owl’s suggestion.
(Sheesh. She sounds so practical, almost like Firestar. Is it just me or was he a completely perfect character? Even when he did something wrong it was for the right reasons. I think I need to fix that... Now I have. No more calm polite Bandit.)

Owl turned his head to look at Bandit uncharacteristically sharp. "Fine, we can just sit here and wait for a cat to walk along and sit in front of you, because apparently you think there is a chance a cat would be out alone next to enemy territory." he snapped, his patience growing shorter. All they needed to do was capture a cat, not too hard of a job. He could see no problem with his plan, if a patrol came along all they had to do was escape to the boarders and try again some other time. It was better than just sitting and waiting on their own territory, not even in the right spot to find a cat "Lets just follow your plan, we can sit here in the wide open waiting for a cat to come along for you" Owl then flinched at his own words, realizing how harsh he was sounding, to even his own ears. He prided himself in being sensible and an overall kind cat, but somethings just grate on his nerves, and his seemingly endless patience quickly grows thin. When that happens someone tends to lose whiskers. He let out an exasperated sigh. Things had to be so complicated with she-cats.

"Mmm, touchy," a sensuous voice said from over a ridge. A small black she-cat stepped delicately over a large stone and sat before the RockClan cats, her paws only a few tail-lengths away from their own. Her small frame suggested a SnowClan cat, but her slightly cynical smile and foreign scent suggested otherwise. She wrapped her thin tail around her paws and watched the two cats with perceptive jade eyes.
"I might suggest his plan," the she-cat mewed, flicking her ears at Owl. "Since when do cats wander alone?"
Her light teasing tone and slightly sarcastic eyes were all the laughing she would permit herself. She didn't really want to start a fight with two other cats. But she had come for herbs unique to the area and while she was here, she might as well have fun. Besides, it was comical to think that these two kitties were considering kidnapping. They were nowhere near organized enough to pull it off on the fly.

((*Ish confused* Coriander, did you mean his plan? Owl is a tom. Unless you were talking about Bandit's plan... In which case you would have ears flicked towards Bandit. Unless you actually were talking about Owl's plan. *Ish even more confused* Who's plan does Coriander agree with?)

(Thanks. Now what to do? Shall she freak out even more? Or mellow out? Hmmm...)
"Oh, yes, because his plan is so clever." Bandit answered her fur bristling. "About as clever as walking into a badger's set." Truth was there really wasn't an intelligent way to go about it. Either way Snowclan would find out eventually. So, she conceded, they might as well know now rather then later. The thing was she'd gone in too far to back out now. “Who are you, anyway?” She asked, though what she really meant was ‘who asked you anyway?’ The newcomer seemed like the right size for a Snowclan cat, but her scent along with the fact that she didn’t panic at the mention of kidnapping a snowclan cat, said differently. Probably she was just a loner, one like all of Rockclan used to be. How long would it be before Rockclan was chasing every rouge that ventured upon their territory? How much like Iceclan would Snowclan and Tangleclan be? That was the real question.
