TangleClan resides in the middle of the Tanglewood forest, which, as its name suggest, is home to a very tight area. Despite the close-lying landscape that the clan claims, their camp is a rather open clearing, in an almost unreachable part of the forest. To those who don’t know where they are going, it is very improbable that they will stumble upon it without aide from the clan cats. And the clan is very careful about keeping the location of their camp a secret, so that they are as safe as possible. The dens themselves are different that one would expect. They have been dug out of the ground, to provide a cooling effect, and the entrance is large enough that there is sufficient lighting during the daytime. The entrances are concealed by pine branches, however, incase the unlikely happens. In the northern part of the camp, there is an old pine tree that does not grow needles anymore. This is used by Dunestar for ceremonies, or meetings.
Outside of the camp, the forest is rather dark. Though light comes from the sky, the majority of it is blocked by the densely populated trees. The cats of the clan are accustomed to this lighting, however, and have no problem seeing prey or roots on the ground. Some streams flow through this area that connects to the larger river further upstream. If one was to follow the streams, they would eventually reach the end of the Tanglewood forest, and be blinded by the much brighter meadow that is still part of TangleClan’s territory. Dunestar recently won the right to this meadow when SnowClan found ample space on the side of the mountain, and no longer needed such a vast territory. Now, the border for the two clans is past the large meadow, and is marked by the river from which the streams from the forest are supplied. The clan’s borders with RockClan are currently being disputed over, seeing as part of their territory was seized by the newly formed clan.
